Forever beta level cap raised to 30

01.10.2026

Blizzard took the beta offline for maintenance on October 1 and brought it back with a new build: the level cap rose from 20 to 30, and characters received 10 more regular talent points.

The World of Warcraft: Forever beta has crossed past level 20: the maximum cap was raised to 30. The beta was taken offline for maintenance on the morning of October 1 Pacific time; in Europe that was already evening, and in Moscow late evening the same day. A few hours later, the servers came back online with a new build, fixes, and patch notes. Community manager Kaivax made the announcement on the official forums.

What's now accessible

The main consequence of the new cap is talents. At level 20 a character had 11 regular points; at level 30 they'll have 21. Two new breakpoints appear: 16 points at level 25 and 21 points at level 30. Each one unlocks key abilities of the chosen tree that previously couldn't be reached without dipping into other branches. Anything past 21 points stays outside the test — including dual specialization, which only opens at level 40.

The new breakpoints give every class something to play with. At level 30, Priest's Divine Spirit becomes a baseline spell rather than a talent, and 21 points in Discipline unlocks Penance — a 2-second channeled spell that either heals an ally or damages an enemy. For Hunters, Aimed Shot has been baseline since level 20, but the new points let you reach Intimidation in Beast Mastery and Trueshot Aura in Marksmanship. For Druids, Swiftmend moved to the 16-point breakpoint in Restoration and can already be tested at level 25. One of the new Feral talents at 16 points was explicitly flagged by the reviewers as missing from this build — it'll come later.

Zones and dungeons

Level 20–30 dungeons and the surrounding Azeroth zones are now available for testing routes, class builds, and group play. Blizzard promised full patch notes as soon as the servers come back online.

In practice

  • If you already have a level 20 character — keep leveling: the new talent breakpoints will open immediately.
  • To test 21-point builds, commit to a single tree — otherwise key abilities stay out of reach.
  • For level 20–30 dungeon runs, put a group together before the servers open.
  • Keep in mind: 30 is the beta's final cap. It won't go higher before the general launch on November 4, 2026.
