The Skyborne, also known as the shen'dorei or "hidden people," are a new playable race in Forever. Their story starts on Zephras Isle, a level 1–12 starting zone themed around wind and elemental air. At character creation the player chooses a faction. Windshapers join the Horde and can be Shamans. The High Order joins the Alliance and can be Mages. Both branches can be Warriors, Hunters, Rogues and Druids, with race-specific Druid forms.

Both branches share Walk on Air (a 10-second glide), Wind Blessed (+1% attack and casting speed) and Elemental Insight (+5% damage to elementals). Windshapers also get Skysight (+10% movement speed), and the High Order gets a ley line ability that increases health and mana regeneration by 100%.

According to Wowhead's summary of the starting zone, the zone's story centres on the disappearance of the wind spirits. After the finale, Alliance Skyborne go to Dalaran and Horde Skyborne go to Mulgore. Warcraft Wiki notes that both branches speak Darnassian and can understand each other across factions.

PC Gamer and GamesRadar report that the race is not included with the base game and costs about $30.
