Players couldn't enter Forever during the first week of beta — Blizzard was performing maintenance
24.09.2026On September 24, a week after the open beta started, several players on the official Blizzard forum complained about being unable to log in: after the queue and selecting PvP or PvE, the client showed 'game worlds unavailable.' Blizzard's service was reporting maintenance work.
On September 24, 2026, a week after the open beta of World of Warcraft: Forever launched, several complaints about being unable to log in appeared on the official Russian-language section of the Blizzard forum. The described scenario was identical: a player went through the queue, reached the mode selection screen (PvP or PvE), picked one — and the client kicked them out with a message that the game worlds were unavailable. At the same time, the Blizzard service showed the status 'disabled for maintenance.'
The thread gathered ten messages from eight participants and quickly died down: neither a confirmed cause for the outage nor recovery timelines from Blizzard appeared. The topic essentially remained in the 'is anyone else getting this?' format, with no official response in the thread itself.
The Forever beta runs from September 17 to October 21, 2026. At the peak of open testing, when hundreds of thousands of accounts try to log in at once, scheduled maintenance and brief login interruptions are an expected part of the process. Such windows are usually reflected in advance in the Blizzard service status and in the launcher; the servers themselves return to action after the work is done without progress loss.
It's worth keeping in mind that during an open beta, even between 'scheduled' windows, sudden disconnects are possible — the team responds to them with hotfixes and patches that come out frequently during testing.
