Aggrend teases a mega-dungeon in the spirit of Blackrock Depths for Forever
28.09.2026Community manager Josh Greenfield hinted on social media that Forever will get a dungeon on the scale of classic BRD — built for five people and a whole evening.
Community manager of World of Warcraft: Forever Josh Greenfield, known to Classic players as Aggrend, is teasing a mega-dungeon in the spirit of Blackrock Depths. It's not an announcement yet — just a short reply on social media — but the fact alone has already been picked apart by the community.
What Aggrend actually said
Over the weekend, a follower on social media suggested adding a mega-dungeon in the style of classic BRD to Forever. Aggrend replied briefly: "good BRD-like mega-dungeon — Hold our beer(s)". In other words: "a good BRD-style mega-dungeon — hold our beer (or several)".
"Hold our beer (or several)" is a meme usually dropped when a team is about to take on something big. Here it's a short hint, not an announcement: Aggrend gave no details and no timeline, and there's no official confirmation from Blizzard yet.
Why Blackrock Depths specifically
BRD is one of the longest dungeons in classic WoW. It's tuned for levels 52–60, has roughly 20 boss encounters, and a full clear takes several hours even for an experienced group. The dungeon was built as an "evening-long expedition": with transitions between zones, narrative threads, and the atmosphere of an underground city beneath Blackrock Mountain.
In Forever, with its Classic+ focus, long dungeons like this complement raids: a five-person activity for those who don't want the 10–25 player format. Raid content in Forever opens on December 9, 2026, and dungeons are the activity for players who aren't ready for raiding yet or simply want a different pace.
In practice
What this changes and what to expect:
- One run, one evening. If the tease makes it to release, the game will get a dungeon built for a long expedition, not a quick loot run.
- A group of five, not a raid. A mega-dungeon is a five-person activity. It works well for small groups and friends who don't want to assemble 10–25 people.
- High-level content. From what sources suggest, this is a max-level dungeon — endgame content, not a low-level zone.
- No details yet. Blizzard has named neither the dungeon, nor a date, nor a level. All we have is a couple of lines from the community manager. Only the studio's official channels are worth trusting.
A tease is a hint, not a promise. Until a blue post or a full announcement, it's too early to draw conclusions.
