Forever will introduce a new rest mechanic — Camping. At a deployed campsite, the player gets buffs, access to profession workbenches and vendors, a bonus to experience for resting, and a place to catch their breath and chat with other players.

What a campsite gives you

Camping is more than just a visual pause in your travels. At a deployed campsite, the player gets:

• Useful buffs — enhancements that last while the campsite is active.
• Profession workbenches — you can craft right at the campfire without going back to town for every bar.
• Vendors — NPCs near the fire where you can buy or sell what you need.
• Rested XP bonus — the same bonus to experience for killing monsters that in classic WoW was built up at inns and in safe zones.
• A place to socialize — the campsite becomes a meeting point for group play and just talking.

How the camp grows

Campfires in Forever unlock as you explore the world. Each camp you find is a new point on the map you can return to: it's a convenient spot to head out into nearby zones and come back with your haul. Each fire has its own level: the higher it is, the stronger the buffs and the more functions the campsite takes on. Over time, a player builds up their own network of camps and plans their routes around it.

In practice

• Use the campsite as a gathering point. In a group with friends, it's a natural meeting place: vendors and workbenches are nearby, no need to run back to town.
• Rely on your familiar campfires. At a developed campsite you already have nearly everything you need for routine: crafting, trading, resting. It's more convenient to return to a trusted camp than to run to town every time.
• Plan your route. Workbenches and NPCs are available at the campsite, so you can handle profession and trade tasks right in the field, instead of going back to town for every little thing.
• The rest bonus works as in an inn. Stack it up — and level with bonus XP, without losing time on the way to the city.
