World of Warcraft: Forever's second beta build activates the Cooldown Manager — Blizzard's built-in tool that tracks key abilities without addons. For now, only five classes can try it.

Where it came from. The Cooldown Manager debuted in patch 12.0 with the Midnight expansion, when Blizzard began restricting addons that duplicate the interface. Forever runs on the same client and follows the same rules, so the tool made its way into the beta — players no longer need WeakAuras or ElvUI just to track important cooldowns.

Who can use it. In the second beta build, the Manager is enabled for testing on Druids, Mages, Priests, Warriors, and Warlocks. The remaining classes will be added in future beta updates.

How to enable. The Cooldown Manager is off by default. Activate it via Options → Advanced — check "Cooldown Manager". After that, use Edit Mode to drag the panel to a convenient spot on screen, and the /cdm command opens the list of spells the Manager will track.

What's still missing. The Manager does not yet distinguish between spell ranks — that fix will come in future builds. Blizzard is also asking players which abilities should make the default list: this feedback is the team's top priority.

What this means for you

If you're used to installing WeakAuras or ElvUI at the start, the basics now come out of the box. No need to keep addons around just to see "this is about to come off cooldown." But it's still a beta: the list of tracked abilities and rank support will be polished later, so for the first few weeks it's worth keeping your trusted addons as a backup.
