Enchanting wands nerfed in Forever beta: vendors pay just one copper
02.10.2026In a recent WoW: Forever beta build the level cap was raised to 30, and with it Enchanting lost one of its simplest money-makers — selling crafted wands to vendors. All common and uncommon quality wands now sell for 1 copper.
What changed
In the WoW: Forever beta build from October 1, the character level cap was raised to 30, and with it Blizzard revisited the vendor sell prices for Enchanting-crafted wands. Previously, common and uncommon quality wands sold to vendors for silver, and this supported a popular enchanter scheme: "disenchant loot → craft a wand → sell to a vendor." Now all such wands sell for 1 copper coin regardless of level.
Four recipes were hit: Lesser Magic Wand, Greater Magic Wand, Lesser Mystic Wand, and Greater Mystic Wand. Previously, crafting them and then selling gave a tangible boost to enchanter pockets for those who regularly disenchanted green drops into simple magic and mystic essences. At the new price, this scheme no longer works: materials cost more than the final vendor payout.
Why Blizzard did this
In comments under the post, many link the change to the level raise — at low levels there was plenty of material to disenchant, but not much to craft with it, so wands effectively became a "skeleton key" for converting green drops into silver. With the cap going up, enchanters will get more interesting recipes — essentially, wands are now just a leveling tool.
The community reaction is mixed: some players feel that Enchanting already had few monetization paths, and now the profession is even more of a "gold sink." Others agree that the vendor-flip exploit was unintended.
