Holly Longdale: World of Warcraft: Forever beta tester cap raised for the second time

27.09.2026

Executive producer Holly Longdale announced that Blizzard has once again raised the open beta server capacity — and fixed a bug that was sending players back to the queue after a disconnect.

The World of Warcraft: Forever beta, which has been running since September 17, 2026, continues to draw massive login queues. On the evening of September 27, executive producer Holly Longdale shared on social media that the team has raised the participant cap once again — this is the second expansion in ten days of testing.

Holly Longdale, executive producer of World of Warcraft: Forever, in her September 27 post: "So... we had to raise the WoW: Forever beta participant cap again. This wild ride keeps going." According to her, the team tweaked server parameters to let as many players as possible get into the game without long queue waits.

Alongside that, they also fixed an annoying bug: after a random disconnect, the client would sometimes send the player back to the queue, even if they had already made it onto the server. That error should be gone now — the fix is already deployed.

Timeline context:

  • Beta runs through October 21, 2026.
  • Full launch — November 4, 2026 at 23:00 UTC (November 5, 02:00 Moscow time).

In practice

  • If you're stuck in a queue — try logging back in an hour or two later: with the cap raised, your chances of getting in go up.
  • If a disconnect put you back in the queue — restart your client: the fix is already on the servers.
  • The beta still has almost four weeks to go — plenty of time to explore the world and level up at your own pace.
