HD creature models: beta tester asks to expand the detail toggle
28.09.2026On the official Forever forum, a player pointed out that the built-in HD toggle in the beta only works for player and NPC models, while monsters and beasts remain at their previous level of detail. Blizzard has not commented on the suggestion yet.
On the World of Warcraft: Forever forum, a beta tester noted that the built-in model detail toggle only does half its job. In their words, HD mode is applied to player characters and NPCs, but skips creatures — the mobs you meet in combat. From them, as before the patch, you're still getting low-poly silhouettes.
The author asked Blizzard to extend the HD toggle to creatures as well. It's a wish, not an official request: no blue post has replied yet.
Why this is even being discussed
The HD toggle in the beta's graphics settings only affects players and NPCs — it doesn't touch creatures. The author's idea is that the same mode should be available for them too, so the picture in dungeons and the open world looks consistent.
Beta context
The World of Warcraft: Forever beta launched on September 17, 2026 and runs through October 21. Feedback like this from testers is a normal part of balancing and polishing the game before its November 4, 2026 launch.
In practice
- If crisp mob models matter to you — leave feedback on the official forum in the beta section: Blizzard collects and reviews those posts.
- There's nowhere to track the suggestion's status yet: the thread has had neither an acknowledgment nor a rejection.
- Until the patch lands, an HD toggle for creatures stays in "would be nice" territory, not "already in the game".
