Hunters ask for more stable slots and complain about pets in the Forever beta

During the open beta of World of Warcraft: Forever (September 17 — October 21, 2026), hunters on the official Blizzard forums are raising several questions about pets at once — and all of them affect how the class feels in play.
Stables. A thread on the Blizzard forum asks for an increase in the number of stable slots. The author puts it bluntly: 'we just need more' — too many pets for different situations, from PvE to PvP, and without enough slots some of them have to be released. The very idea of a collection gets lost.
Damage scaling. In a separate thread, a player asks whether this is a bug or intended: pet damage scales with attack speed, not normalized. If this is intended behavior, it changes the choice of pets — speed becomes more important than other stats. There's no answer from developers yet.
Command behavior. Another thread is about the 'stay' and 'passive' commands. In Classic, if you set a pet to 'stay', send it to attack, and then switch it to 'passive' — the pet returned to its original position. This was useful for certain pulls. Now, after attacking, 'passive' does nothing: the only way to call the pet is 'follow', and it walks to the hunter, not to the stand position. The 'move' command partly helps, but it has a smaller radius and fewer scenarios where it works. The thread's author writes directly that they miss the old behavior, and admits the chances of its return are slim.
