Blizzard clarified a hunter talent: Sniper Shot hits harder than Aimed Shot
30.09.2026The description of Forever's new hunter talent Sniper Shot had an error — the wording compared the ability to itself. Blizzard, through the development team, confirmed the correct version: Sniper Shot hits harder than Aimed Shot.
The description of the Sniper Shot talent for Forever included a phrase saying it hits 'even harder than Sniper Shot' — that is, harder than itself. A player flagged it, and the wording was aligned with the development team: the description now compares the talent to Aimed Shot, the hunter's baseline aimed shot.
What Sniper Shot does, per the updated description:
- requires the active Trueshot Aura;
- 4-second cast time;
- 15-second cooldown;
- base range of 45 yards;
- extends the range of the next three shots by 10 yards.
The talent sits in the golden 31-point slot — the final talent of the tree.
In practice:
- Sniper Shot is the hunter's final 'big' shot: long cast, rare trigger, high damage.
- The comparison with Aimed Shot is now direct: Sniper Shot is an enhanced version of the aimed shot, not a replacement.
- Trueshot Aura as a requirement makes the talent rotation-dependent: you can only use it under the aura.
- The range bonus on the next three shots will come in handy in fights at range and against mobile targets.
