In World of Warcraft: Forever, Night Elves received an updated set of racial abilities. This is part of a broader rework of racial passives that touched every race in the project. A Night Elf player should understand exactly what changed: one ability is brand new, the existing ones gained extra effects, and a familiar resist is gone.

Light of Elune

A new racial that Night Elves never had before. Increases the critical strike chance for all spells and attacks by 10% for 15 seconds, with a 3-minute cooldown. It was designed as a tool for burst phases — for example, alongside active cooldowns in raids or at key moments of a fight.

Quickness

A familiar Classic ability, but broader in Forever. The usual 1% dodge remains, with 2% movement speed and a chance to stay unnoticed while Stealthed and Shadowmelded added on top. Especially useful for scouting and sneaking past mobs in the open world.

Shadowmeld

The classic ability to slip into shadows for a surprise attack in PvP. In Forever it gained an extra effect — dropping aggro in combat, which helps when you need to hand off to a tank. The price is a longer 2-minute cooldown: the usual rhythm of PvP ambushes has shifted.

Wisp Spirit

An already familiar ability with an extra bonus: +25% movement speed in spirit form. After a wipe in a raid, a Night Elf will reach the boss faster than before.

What's gone

Nature resistance left the racial kit — this is part of the broader cleanup along with the other racial resists in Forever.

In practice

• Light of Elune is built for burst damage phases and lasts 15 seconds.
• Shadowmeld combines an ambush with an aggro drop, but the cooldown grew to 2 minutes.
• Wisp Spirit in Forever speeds up the run back to the boss after a wipe.
