Shaman in WoW: Forever — what the beta community keeps asking for

During the WoW: Forever beta, three separate threads on the official Blizzard forums — two from EU players, one from US — converge on the same class. Shaman players want totems on the move, dual wield at last, and a real path to endgame damage.

During the WoW: Forever beta, three separate threads on the official Blizzard forums — two from EU players, one from US — converge on the same class: Shaman. The wish list reads like a draft of patch notes — smoother totems, the return of Dual Wield, and a clear path to endgame damage.

Call of the Elements needs to move

The totem-reset ability Call of the Elements currently forces a 3-second cast. That's awkward for any class, and especially punishing for Enhancement Shaman, who want to plant Fire totems in range and immediately chain them with Fire Nova. The request is simple: make it instant, or at least castable while moving. That fits perfectly into pre-pull setups and boss openers, where every second before the first target counts.

Dual Wield, finally

Toward the end of Classic, Shamans gained a level-gated talent that let them dual wield. Beta players are asking for the same in Forever — not as a free option, but as a talent tied to a specific level. That would give Enhancement the fast-attack feel the spec had in the closing months of Classic TBC, and put the old "flurry of fists" rhythm back into the rotation.

Can Enhancement scale into the endgame?

The loudest of the three threads is a math-based post from an EU player who walked through Forever's current Shaman talent tree. The verdict is blunt: Elemental and Restoration got useful changes, but Enhancement is stuck. Without Dual Wield, the spec leans on slow two-handed weapons — and slow swings simply don't generate enough Maelstrom procs, which in turn starves Flurry and Windfury. The suggestion is concrete: an Enhancement talent that grants a +25–30% attack-speed bonus to two-handed weapons, so Flurry and Windfury stack into something meaningful before raids like Hyjal Summit open.

What this means for you

  • If you main Enhancement on the PTR/beta, the numbers are already telling. Until Dual Wield or a dedicated attack-speed lever arrives, the spec is a "for the love of it" choice, not a top-DPS one.
  • Elemental and Restoration players see the cleaner QoL asks here — instant Call of the Elements, smoother totem swaps — these are mostly pre-pull and raid-utility quality-of-life.
  • The same complaints surface across EU and US, in three different threads written from three different angles — that kind of repetition is what tends to surface early on developers' radar.
