Another round of Warrior changes in the Forever beta: Fury and Protection reworked
02.10.2026Blizzard posted the next batch of Warrior changes in the World of Warcraft: Forever beta: the Fury tree has been reworked, Protection talents have been shifted, and hit rating while dual wielding now works differently.
Blizzard keeps reworking Warriors in the World of Warcraft: Forever beta. In a blue post dated October 1, 2026, Kaivax listed the next batch of changes: rage and core mechanics, the Fury tree, and — as a separate block — Protection.
General
- Bonus rage from critical strikes increased to 100% (was 75%).
- Fixed a bug where Dual Wield Specialization granted its hit bonus to both weapons; the bug forced the team to redo Fury testing.
Fury
The stated goal is to give Fury more utility abilities and a meaningful choice at the start of the tree, and to free up points in the second half so you no longer have to invest in Enrage just to reach Flurry.
Protection
Here the goal is to give players without a shield a short path into the middle of the tree, so Protection works as an off-spec for PvP with access to Improved Bloodrage, Iron Will, Improved Disarm, Last Stand and Improved Shield Bash. For that, these talents have moved one tier closer to the start, Anticipation moves back to tier 2, and the Toughness talent has been removed.
In practice:
- If you tested a Fury Warrior before this build — your old hit calculations are outdated: the dual-wield bug has been fixed and off-hand hit sources reworked.
- The path to Flurry no longer requires Enrage — the tree is freer now, and your build is worth revisiting.
- If you were talenting into Protection for PvP without a shield, key talents are easier to reach.
- The beta runs until October 21, 2026 — there are still almost three weeks to try the changes first-hand.
